• 1959: The beginning of success

    Cavenaghi starts its activity and introduces the Cocoset (Cold set Cement) in Italy, thus making the preparation of cores with natural or synthetic oils completely obsolete.

  • 1960-1970: No-Bake System

    Between the 60s and 70s Cavenaghi develops and places the Furan No-Bake system on the italian market.
    Having become the qualified benchmark for Italian foundries, Cavenaghi develops other products like Amidine. When the shortage of furfural alcohol makes it necessary to produce an alternative to furan resins, Cavenaghi comes up with no-bake phenolic resins.

  • 1970-1980: Organic acid and Cold-Box

    Driven by the big succes of the first decade, Cavenaghi starts building the sulphonation plant that still enables the company to meet the ever-increasing demand for organic acids for curing no-bake resins.
    At the end of the 1970s Cavenaghi’s innovative skills are focussed on developing its own polyurethane binding systems for Cold-Box processes for the mass production of cores.

  • 1985: Agreements with Borden

    Cavenaghi acquires the Borden patent rights, enabling the company to produce and market alkaline phenolic resins and hydrotropes.

  • 1990: A step forward

    In the 1990s Cavenaghi installs new high-tech reactors: entirely managed by a distributed controlled system, the reactors optimise the qualitative consistency of the resins.

    Thanks to its history of success, Cavenaghi to day stay expresses its utmost commitment to optimising and improving its products to best meet the customers’ needs.

    Today Cavenaghi has a production capacity of 250.000 kg with a storage capacity of over 4.000 tons of products, that allows Cavenaghi to continuosly supply its customers.
